Efficient cities through smart solutions - digitalisation as an opportunity

Cities are faced with the challenge of meeting the increasing demands of urbanisation, climate change and digitalisation. Complex administrative processes often hinder quick decisions and resources cannot be utilised efficiently. This gives rise to the need to use digitalisation to counteract these problems and improve the quality of life of citizens. We support you with data-driven decision-making principles and innovative technology to counteract these challenges and take sustainable measures.

Our offerings include smart administration solutions, data-intelligent city management systems and sustainable urban development concepts. We combine state-of-the-art technologies with in-depth consulting to develop customised solutions for urban challenges.

Efficient and citizen-centred

We use digital interfaces to create efficient communication channels that simplify interaction between the administration and citizens and at the same time increase accessibility to administrative services. This includes products and services such as

  • Citizen communication: heat and black ice warnings, communication in the event of school cancellations, virtual city tours
  • Citizen interaction: digital appointment allocation, AI chatbots and smart indoor navigation
  • Efficient administration: efficient use of existing office workstations with the help of a check-in app, maturity analyses of digitalisation projects and support with register modernisation

Intelligent data for smart decisions

We develop and implement data-driven city management systems that enable informed decisions, optimise processes and promote sustainable urban development.

  • (IoT) data platforms: koda.city thingsboard, Open Remote, Civitas Core
  • Data models: digital twin, synthetic data, AI vision, digital data map
  • City management: city radar, smart fleet, metaverse, traffic management centres

For a future worth living

We support cities in strengthening their ecological, economic and cultural sustainability - from climate-friendly concepts to the promotion of local culture and business. For example through:

  • Climate monitoring: heat radar, frost radar, flood risk, environmental data radar

  • Environmental protection: eva.real for the energy-efficient refurbishment of municipal properties, energy efficiency consulting with Checkpoint.eco and assistance with green coding

News from the Public Sector

Review

From 18 to 19 March 2025, more than 3,000 experts from administration, business and science came together in Berlin to discuss innovative solutions for the digitalization of administration under the motto “Digital administration goes on air”.

Interview

Digital twins create virtual representations of real systems - such as cities or industrial plants - in order to evaluate data in real time and carry out simulations. In the public sector, it is used to optimize urban processes, such as traffic planning or environmental monitoring, and thus improve the quality of life.

Consider the scenario of a panel discussion or a question-and-answer session featuring a group of experts in the relevant field. While these participants possess significant knowledge, they may also exhibit a degree of bias due to their established perspectives. Introducing an artificial intelligence (AI) as one of the participants could provide a refreshing dynamic.

Interview

Enterprise Architecture Management (EAM) serves as key for optimizing of IT infrastructures through transparency, strategic planning and efficient communication. The central tasks of EAM are the collection, documentation and planning of the IT landscape to ensure an efficient and sustainable IT architecture.
