A central approach of our personnel development is the orientation towards strengths. Strengths are made up of talent, knowledge, experience and skills. Onboarding

To help you feel at home with us right from the start, we would like to begin your learning journey at msg together with you and your new colleagues on our start day. During this event, you will not only get to know the msg group and msg culture, but also our IT infrastructure, organizational processes and important internal systems. We also place a strong focus on networking among new colleagues.

Your individual induction program with your manager will help you find your feet. Information about your future role and important dates and activities in the first few weeks will make it easier for you to get started. Your colleagues will be happy to help and support you.

At the end of the probationary period, you will have a feedback meeting with your manager to take stock of your first few months with us, review the agreed goals, milestones and measures, and agree on how to proceed.

Training program

To help you continuously develop your skills, we offer a wide range of training courses on personal, social, methodological and professional skills. The training courses are conducted by experienced internal and external trainers.

Our digital learning platform, lexa, combines the entire range of training options in one place and offers a variety of ways to learn, discover new things and then apply them in practice later on. In addition to classic training formats, you will also find a constantly growing range of e-learning options here – including web-based training (WBT) on exciting topics that are freely available to all employees.

Target group-specific programs

Our target group-specific programs offer you the opportunity to develop your skills in a variety of career paths over an extended period of time and in several modules. The programs are organized into fixed-term seasons that start once or several times a year. The following programs, among others, are available:

Experienced consultants are confronted with business processes in a variety of ways. In this program, program participants learn to understand them as part of the business architecture and acquire the tools for systematic collection, evaluation and optimization in order to fully fulfill their role in consulting.

Consultants with a technical focus who will take on the role of an IT architect in the future will learn and understand the associated tasks and responsibilities as well as the central concepts of IT architecture. In addition to the central conceptual, methodological and technological requirements, they will also learn to think outside the box of an IT architect.

Professional project management is an indispensable condition for successful project implementation. Project management training courses enable employees to prepare for a future role in project management or to deepen their extensive knowledge. They learn how to apply project management methods confidently and how to organize the collaboration of project teams efficiently. They can also get certified according to the competence model of the German Society for Project Management (GPM):

  • Certification as a Project Management Associate (Level D)
  • Certification as a Project Manager (Level C)
  • Certification as a Senior Project Manager (Level B)

These programs support colleagues in taking on their role as a technical or disciplinary manager or in reflecting on and expanding their leadership skills.

When taking on management responsibility, new and specific tasks and challenges arise. In these programs, participants use specific practical cases to learn and apply specific communication methods, leadership and conflict management approaches and, depending on the focus, also business and legal basics.

The Excellence Program is aimed at experienced experts from all career paths who have distinguished themselves through exceptional success, high commitment and innovative contributions.
Participants are nominated by top management executives.
In this program, participants receive not only tailored development measures but also the opportunity to strengthen their personal skills, work on strategic projects of the board and network across the organization.

Whether certification, a language course or professional development – employees who are interested in training that is not included in our program or who would like to complete individual training, for example, will receive professional advice and support with research and registration from us in consultation with their manager.

Coaching can help employees who are facing a professional challenge to apply the technical or methodological tools of their trade in a way that is appropriate and effective to the situation.
In a process with a defined timeframe, the coach helps the employee to help themselves by working through the individual content. This enables our colleagues to develop their own strategies for solving problems and achieving goals, enabling them to approach their professional activities in a more reflective and goal-oriented way.

Teams that focus on their strengths every day are more productive, happier and have a stronger emotional connection to their job. TeamMatch is a useful tool. It focuses on the strengths within the team, enabling team members to learn more about their own strengths and those of their colleagues. This helps a department, project team or group to get to know and understand each other very well in a short period of time. It also allows important factors such as collaboration, goal orientation or communication within the team to be examined in more detail and measures to be derived.

The goal of Working Out Loud® at msg is to promote cross-departmental collaboration, knowledge sharing and networking. Participants set a goal and pursue it within their 3- to 5-person circle during the 12-week program. As part of this targeted and appreciative collaboration, they reflect on their progress together, share their knowledge and benefit from feedback from their colleagues.

Our annual performance reviews are designed as a strengths- and future-oriented dialogue. This is where you regularly discuss your individual strengths, tasks and development opportunities with your manager. In an open discussion, you exchange ideas on the topics, as well as the associated expectations and experiences, and define goals together.

Our job model provides the framework and orientation for your career planning. This provides you with a clear, comprehensible basis by describing the various careers at msg in a structured way.

Jobs with very similar content are grouped into so-called job families. These are divided into several levels, the job level. All employees can thus be assigned in the job model based on their expertise (job family) and the scope of their experience, knowledge and responsibility (job level), which is also expressed by the job title.

Over time, you can not only develop across job levels with us, but also horizontally into new areas of activity.
