Cloud Computing
Are you ready for the cloud?
Whether as a cloud engineer, architect or consultant - the future lies in the cloud. Help shape it!
Cloud computing is the future and the associated transformation is inevitable for our customers. We are paving the way to a cloud-based environment by working with cutting-edge technologies and continuing to drive forward the expansion of cloud infrastructures.
We need you for this! Whether in a consulting function, in cloud engineering or in cloud architecture - with us you will find exactly the role that suits you best!
Here you can find out what tasks await you in the various roles and what else you need to know about cloud computing in the msg group.
Roles in Cloud Computing
If you start as a Cloud Engineer (m/f/d), you will focus on the entire process from analysis to the operation of scalable, secure cloud and application architectures.
You will design and implement cloud solutions based on AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform. Your tasks will vary depending on whether you join as a Junior or Senior.
As a Cloud Architect (m/f/d), you will develop cloud strategies and architectures with a view to adjacent systems and business areas. You will be responsible for designing and implementing solutions based on modern cloud infrastructures from AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud, taking into account non-functional requirements.
On the basis of PaaS, CaaS or FaaS platforms, especially in agile projects, you will design and implement sustainable architectures and thus play a key role in the success of the project.
You will play another important role in our cloud projects as a (Senior) Cloud Consultant (m/f/d): You will support our customers with organizational, technological, process-related and business challenges in the context of cloud transformation. You will develop and support cloud strategies, business models and architectures and implement them. The consulting expertise you have built up over many years will help you to professionally support our customers in the strategic introduction of modern cloud solutions and the modernization of their IT infrastructure.
Take the opportunity to develop in the direction of business development, business architecture or transformation management in the context of cloud computing and cloud transformation.

Who are you and what is your main task?
My name is Irina Eurich and I am Product Owner for Cloud in msg's internal IT department. I mainly take care of our MultliCloud, which enables our employees to order self-service subscriptions from the hyperscalers in order to develop there. I am also involved in migrating our services from the data center to the cloud, where there are some challenges but also many new opportunities to design services.
My role as Product Owner also includes analyzing requirements and strategic future planning in the area of cloud offerings.
Why do you like working at msg?
Although we are a very large company, there is a very informal working environment everywhere in which great value is placed on collaboration. Good ideas are listened to and actively supported, which leads to a diverse and innovative working environment.
The opportunity to work on challenging projects and make a contribution motivates me every day.
What excites you about your work?
I really enjoy working in IT because of the variety. There are always new topics, new developments and therefore new perspectives.
I'm also a big fan of agile working methods, which help us to better involve our customers and our developers and thus deliver better services and products.
Who are you and what is your main task?
My name is Andreas Lehmann and I work as an IT architect for the msg Research cross-division. There I am assigned to the Center of Competence Cloud Computing. From here, I support various internal and external projects in different roles.
Which msg project are you currently supporting?
I am currently working on msg's MultiCloud platform. This platform offers an internal self-service portal through which every employee can order a subscription. This is then created fully automatically at the desired hyperscaler and delivered with a secure basic configuration so that development can start quickly.
In this project, I support some of the product teams as an architect, scrum master or product owner.
What else do you do?
I provide support in everything to do with cloud architecture and cloud infrastructure.
At msg, with over 10,000 employees, there are many circles, networks and communities that focus on the cloud. I share knowledge via various channels, organize talks and various exchange formats, work on career paths for cloud engineers and cloud architects and give training courses on cloud-related topics such as cloud basics, IaC with Terraform or container-based deployments with Docker and Kubernetes.
Further training and specializations in the Cloud sector
The cloud forms the basis of digital transformation and is therefore of particular importance in the msg group. That is why we systematically and specifically promote your knowledge development in the cloud area. For us as msg, there are three relevant hyperscalers that offer cloud services on an international level: Amazon (AWS), Google (Google Cloud) and Microsoft (Microsoft Azure).
The foundation of our cloud training concept is formed by training courses that are initially offered independently of specific hyperscalers. In addition to this, we also offer advanced cloud-agnostic training courses for developers and architects, such as “Container-Based Deployment - with Docker and Kubernetes” or “Cloud Application Development - with Java”.
At the heart of our cloud training is the hyperscaler-specific in-depth training, most of which takes place directly at the hyperscaler or a training partner in the form of external training.
As a cloud expert, you will specialize in AWS, Google Cloud or Azure and gradually obtain the respective certifications.
Some hyperscaler-specific training courses are also offered by msg employees or internally at msg.
