Healthcare

We network the healthcare market!

Join us in creating the healthcare system of tomorrow with modern IT solutions and user-oriented technologies.

Digitization in the healthcare sector is in the fast lane and offers us an unprecedented range of IT projects. The electronic patient file (ePA), the electronic prescription (ePrescription) and the possibility of being prescribed the first digital health applications (DIGA) on a health insurance prescription are concrete examples of this development.

Our aim in the Healthcare division is to work with our customers to develop innovative solutions for users and implement these using state-of-the-art technologies. To this end, we offer our customers powerful, multidisciplinary project teams with dedicated IT and technical experts. We fill a wide variety of roles, such as DevOps engineers, software developers, business analysts, project managers and many more. The development of our solutions can take place both at the customer's premises and at various msg locations (Germany-wide, nearshore and offshore)

In order to develop their individual skills, our employees organize themselves in communities alongside the project business and thus drive our innovation topics forward.

Healthcare - that's us!

Who are you and what is your main task, René?

I'm René Puhlmann and I've been working at msg as a Senior Business Consultant since spring 2020. In my current role, I work as a Scrum Master on a large, agile project for a statutory insurance company.

The Scrum Master is one of the three roles in the Scrum process, a process model from product and project management. My role is primarily about accompanying, supporting and improving the processes - especially the development process of our teams. In addition to the process itself, I focus on people, as I believe they are the most important resource we have. They must not only understand our project processes, but also be able to implement them and feel comfortable doing so.
My tasks therefore include motivating the team to strive for improvements, coaching the team and everyone involved in the scrum process and establishing a positive error culture. The aim is to create the necessary transparency so that the work process is regularly reflected on by the team and can ultimately be improved.

I find it particularly important to communicate and act transparently. For example, I am also responsible for discussing unpleasant topics with the team in order to ultimately work out a solution to the challenge together, to which everyone involved in the process can commit.

The following quote from Benjamin Franklin is my motto for good collaboration: “Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn”.

How would your colleagues describe you?

Transparent, motivated, Berliner Schnauze - but above all with the words “tough but fair”!  My job is all about improving the way people work together and the processes that prevail in the project. Everyone makes mistakes. That's not a bad thing. We can only learn from mistakes, which is why one of my tasks is to press on the wound from time to time. But I do this very carefully ;)

What was your first computer and what operating system did it have?

It was the Commodore64 ( c64) with a Unix-like operating system.

Judith, what is your main task in the healthcare sector?

I have already worked in various roles in the field of methodology. For example, I'm currently responsible for requirements analysis in projects. I enjoy working with the customer to create structured requirements from a vision and a loose wish list that can be implemented. I'm always excited to see the user stories we've designed together once they've been implemented in the product.

Since the beginning of the year, I have also been leading the “Methodology” competence community in our business unit.

Why do you like working at msg?

What I like best about msg is the collegiality. I noticed this the first time I visited my current location - when I was still a student. Potential new employees were welcomed openly and even employees who had nothing to do with the event joined me during the break and patiently answered all my questions. That convinced me back then - and I still experience that every day in my projects.

Where will your next vacation take you?

As far away as is permitted and sensible. I'm looking forward to the time when I can set off again with my backpack. My goal is to travel to 100 different countries. On my last vacation, I took a rental car from Johannesburg via Kruger National Park to Cape Town - an incredibly long journey, but well worth it!

Topics that move us

Who hasn't experienced this? Expectations are not met because they were not communicated or not understood! Customer requirements are our vocation, test and task; fulfilling them is our goal. In order to understand wishes, we consistently rely on requirements engineering (RE) and business analysis. Together with our customers, we systematically address requirements, concretize and specify them and assume management and responsibility for the rest of the process. From concretization to implementation, we ensure trouble-free implementation. We are masters in our disciplines, from definition, analysis, documentation and validation through to commissioning.

Long waiting and application times, incomprehensible explanations and incompetent or unfriendly employees reduce customer satisfaction and therefore also sales. We can avoid this through efficient customer contact management. Clear sequences, such as online forms, chatbots, standardized documents and coordination between input/output management can reduce or avoid such inconveniences for customers as much as possible.

We develop stylish apps with innovative functions. Pregnant women, for example, can use the apps to document their pregnancy and keep track of everything that is important. The gynecologists and midwives record all the data for the app and the paper maternity pass is replaced. All important information is therefore bundled on the smartphone. We have also developed a kind of “sales app” for health services. This eliminates the hassle of making phone calls to arrange appointments for a yoga class, for example. This is even free of charge, as the costs are covered in advance by the health insurance company without the need for applications.
In short: we make preventive healthcare easy! And many interesting topics are still to come. Be part of it!

We provide technical platforms for the networking of players from various areas of the healthcare market and also offer to operate them. We use proven components (open source and commercial), standards (e.g. HL7, CDA, FHIR, telematics infrastructure) and solutions (e.g. ePA, eRezept) that are already established in the ecosystem.
