NFA in software projects
Identify and fulfill quality characteristics more easily
A successful product with msg.TEN
Non-functional requirements (NFA) play a central role in software development. In contrast to functional requirements, which describe the basic purpose an application should fulfill, non-functional requirements answer the “how” of implementation. These can be parameters such as response time, usability, availability or security.
Clearly defined non-functional requirements are therefore a prerequisite for successful software development. Even if all functional requirements are formally implemented correctly, the product may turn out to be useless. Either because the functions, as implemented, do not provide any added value or impair the basic function. The consequences can be unplanned additional costs and increased resource expenditure.
To reduce these risks to a minimum, we have developed msg.TEN (Transparent, Simple, NFA). With msg.TEN, you can select your NFA quickly, easily and pre-formulated. The underlying catalog criteria are based on ISO/IEC 25010, the international standard for quality criteria for software, IT systems and software engineering. With msg.TEN, you can therefore ensure that all quality criteria for your software project are met.
Missing quality features can be:
- High response times restrict usability.
- Gaps in the security architecture enable data manipulation, warnings and/or hacker attacks.
- Immature usability impairs user acceptance.
- Insufficient availability leads to productivity losses.
The solution: msg.TEN
The necessary non-functional requirements are given structure: they are pre-formulated in msg.TEN and can be provided with project or product-specific parameters.
With the help of the ISO/IEC 25010 checklist, you can be sure that you have not overlooked any necessary quality features.
Simply export your results as a PDF or to Jira.
You receive corresponding step-by-step test descriptions for all quality requirements in accordance with ISO/IEC 29119, enabling you to check whether your quality characteristics are being met.
You can find the non-functional requirements for new projects or products or re-document existing ones.
The orientation towards leading standards allows you to achieve a high-quality result.
“Identifying non-functional requirements can pose challenges even for experienced software developers, which is why they are often neglected. Our msg.TEN module offers a simple and complete selection of non-functional requirements for your successful software project in the form of an intuitive catalog.”
