We - around 200 employees from msg's Corporate IT department - provide our colleagues from development, consulting, management and administration with standardized and customized IT solutions at first-class conditions.
This enables us to provide our users with an efficient and secure working environment that meets the high requirements of a leading, large IT consulting and system integration company.
At the same time, we are the partner for IT services and business process optimization for the business units of the msg group. Every day, we develop and operate unique IT and business process solutions that meet msg's requirements.

What is your main task?
My main task is to administer and automate the Linux operating systems and implement new systems. I also support other departments in current and new projects.
What is the technology of the future for you?
Microservices - is a technology of the future for me. The trend has become increasingly strong and even rather monolithic applications, which are often very complex, are increasingly being brought into a microservices architecture.
Is there a sport that you can no longer do without?
As a child, I played basketball in the school championships and also at weekends with friends. Sometimes I still have this desire today, but it is more difficult to find players for basketball than for soccer.
What is your main task?
In my role as division manager, I am currently responsible for four departments within Corporate IT. The aim of my role is to ensure IT services for our more than 9,000 users in the msg group. I am responsible for IT operations (with a focus on workplace services), IT procurement, the IT service desk and second-level support as well as field support in Germany and Romania. I also deal with client logistics including leasing and the operation of our service center for all non-IT topics within the msg group.
Why do you like working at msg?
The most important factor is the opportunity to change and develop things. Even though msg already employs over 9,000 people worldwide and there are rules and processes in place, everyone has the chance to introduce new topics. And many of them are implemented. Nothing is more motivating than actively implementing the ideas of the team or yourself.
What podcasts can you think of that you subscribe to?
I currently have two favorite podcasts. The first deals with current science: “Methodically incorrect!” - The aim is to convey scientific topics in a generally understandable and entertaining way in the form of a relaxed conversation. The podcast, each episode of which is around three hours long, therefore deals with the everyday lives of researchers as well as presenting new scientific publications. The second tip “Logbuch:Netzpolitik” deals more with IT. In weekly episodes, the two presenters look at net politics in German-speaking and European countries from the perspective of two hackers and computer freaks with a love of technology, culture and freedom.
What is your main task?
I am part of our network (and security) team, which operates and supports the msg Group's global corporate network for all technically connected units. In addition to the locations, this also includes our own data centers here in Ismaning, as well as the cloud, which we are currently developing and expanding. As a logistics company for data packages, we are also involved in almost every (internal) project in a digital company. This can range from a few simple tasks to project management and significant implementation.
How did you come to msg?
I came to msg twice as a repeat offender. The first time was in 2001 following a request from a friend who had moved to Munich some time before for love and joined msg. That was a huge step for me at the time, far away from home, lack of accommodation, (no) one you know. The second step followed after four years of “parental leave”. I was already unhappy in my position and then realized at my birthday party that the largest group of my friends had something to do with msg. That was the time for me to approach msg. Now I've been back for four years and I simply feel at home and look forward to working with my colleagues every day.
What is your favorite band?
The Fantastic Four! The cancellation of msg's 40th anniversary celebration due to the pandemic, where a concert by Fanta4 in the Olympiahalle was planned as a highlight, was accordingly regrettable!

As the number of hacker attacks is constantly growing, we support the msg group in minimizing these cyber risks. Efficient cyber security protects our systems from attacks.
In this environment, we operate our own Security Operations Center (SOC) with security analysts. The SOC comprises various sensors and systems that generate, collect, analyze and process log files and information flows. The focus is on the log management system with the security incident and event management system, which are supported by additional functionalities for detection and defense.
Efficient reporting is crucial for verifying compliance with contractual SLA targets and also for contract-compliant management and optimization of our IT operations. To this end, we use a data warehouse as a central instance with which we extract data from a large number of systems and store it in a structured manner. With our reporting tools such as Microsoft PowerBi and the Microsoft DWH, we access this data and model graphical reports as well as detailed analyses.
Manual routine tasks cost valuable IT and service desk resources and impair their potential to drive forward more important strategic issues and projects. Using automation solutions such as Microsoft PowerAutomate, SAP DWH and SAP Analytics, as well as our workflow and ticketing system, we optimize the management of complex hybrid environments by automating infrastructure, cloud and workspace processes required to support the business.
In line with our divisional slogan “IT SOLUTIONS INSPIRED BY YOU”, an extremely modern and appealing service area - the IT Service Lounge - has been created for our employees at our most important locations. Our employees receive first-class personal support on site and can test and try out new IT hardware at the same time.
Service lounges are in operation at the following msg locations: Frankfurt, Passau and Ismaning/Munich.
Thanks to our IT accessory vending machines, “long” waits for an IT accessory order are a thing of the past. The aim of our vending machine is to provide our employees with IT accessories in a modern and fast way. Various accessories such as keyboards, headphones, charging cables or a mouse can be obtained using an ID card.
Quality management: The process-oriented approach enables us to plan our processes and their interactions and to allocate our resources appropriately. The processes are managed in line with our motto “IT SOLUTIONS INSPIRED BY YOU”. In this way, we ensure the continuous development of our Integrated Management System (IMS).
Information security is a major need for our internal and external customers. For this reason, we pay close attention to current requirements. Our most important tool here is our Information Security Management System (ISMS).
In these two areas of information security, we are guided by market standards such as regular ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 certification.
We, the Service Delivery Managers (SDM), represent the seven central divisions of msg systems ag in the provision of the contractually agreed services. We regularly consult with customers on the status of services under the contract and discuss possible extensions or changes to the provision of services with them.
We talk proactively with the customer about possible new services within the existing service portfolio. As personal contacts, we are responsible for managing the customer and service delivery when it comes to costs and deadlines, for example for service and change requests. We also regularly coordinate the necessary customer service meetings. Among other things, these meetings deal with incidents, escalations and change requests that reflect the customer's wishes.
We SDMs support our customers in every way and adapt to their requirements as far as possible. We are there for our customers.

We train - out of conviction!
For us, training means above all taking responsibility for the future. As an IHK training company, we train IT specialists for system integration and office management clerks. All trainees pass through several departments during their training in order to get to know different professional fields. Experienced trainers pass on their know-how to the talented trainees in order to optimally prepare them for their future tasks as valuable employees of our constantly growing company.
