Your path to an accessible application
Accessibility means equal participation for all. Older people and people with disabilities or restrictions in particular should be able to participate in (digital) life without discrimination. The legislator has enshrined these rights in the Barrier-Free Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG). The BFSG stipulates that from mid-2025, certain services and products placed on the market - including websites, documents, software and mobile applications - must be designed to be accessible.
To support you in this, we have developed msg.BALM (Barrierefreiheit, Accessibility, Lifecycle, Management). With msg.BALM, you can check and optimize the accessibility status of your application and parts of your application step by step yourself. The test steps comply with European Standard 301 549 for accessible websites, documents, software and mobile applications.

Accessibility criteria may be missing:
Text with too little contrast is unreadable, even for people without visual impairments.
Insufficiently structured content is incomprehensible for people with visual impairments and cognitive limitations.
Audio without subtitles cannot be used by people without hearing ability.
Click surfaces that are too small lead to operating errors for people with motor impairments.
