msg maintains 6th place in the 2020 Lünendonk ranking

Jun 17, 2020

In this year's Lünendonk ranking of the “Leading 25 IT consulting and system integration companies in Germany”, msg once again took sixth place. The ranking is regarded as an important barometer of sentiment in the German IT industry.

The 25 leading IT consultancies in Germany grew by an average of 10.0 percent in 2019. Companies sought support from IT consultants in particular for the modernization of IT, the digitalization of customer interfaces and cloud transformation. The number of employees at the top 25 companies in Germany rose by an average of 6.9% compared to the previous year.

"Proximity to the market and people is our maxim - by focusing on people, we create added value in the digitalized world. I am therefore particularly pleased that our employee growth of around 8.2 percent in Germany puts us above the average value determined by Lünendonk," comments msg CEO Dr. Stephan Frohnhoff. "What's more, in terms of the number of employees (5,424) across Germany, we are in 3rd place in the current list. We will continue to focus strongly on the development and promotion of our employees in order to maintain our position as an attractive employer in Germany in the future."

In terms of turnover, Lünendonk is forecasting a significantly slower development in the IT services market for the current year. The consulting and market research company's 30 years of experience have shown that there is a high correlation between the development of the IT services market and Germany's gross domestic product (GDP). The 6.5% decline in GDP forecast by the EU Commission will therefore also have an impact on the business development of most IT service providers. At the same time, customers will increasingly invest in digitalization projects and new technologies such as AI and IoT, according to Lünendonk.

“6th place in this high-ranking ranking shows us once again that msg plays an important role in the digitalization of the German economy,” says msg CEO Dr. Stephan Frohnhoff. "We are proud to be able to make a contribution to overcoming the corona crisis with our IT and consulting expertise, especially in such difficult times as these. Among other things, msg is supporting the German government with important applications to protect the population and equipping various institutions such as schools with the necessary IT infrastructure. Because the crisis has shown us: It is precisely now that we should consistently continue on the path of digital transformation."
