Accessibility Advanced
for UI/UX design
Only accessible user interfaces (UI) enable a good user experience (UX). This is the basis for extensive inclusion and equal opportunities in the use of digital apps and media.
In this training course, you will learn about and meet the legal and normative requirements for the accessibility of information and communication technology (ICT). You will complete specific teaching units on design criteria in UI/UX design (constructive) and test criteria in accessibility testing (analytical). These include the most important requirements, such as
- general keyboard operability,
- Color schemes and color contrasts,
- Fonts and font size,
- audio descriptions,
- subtitling,
- alternative texts.
Objective:
You will learn how to design accessible user interfaces and how to check user interfaces for accessibility using suitable tools.
Contents:
- Legal and normative framework conditions: BITV / BFSG, EN 301549, WCAG 2.1, ISO 9241
- Relevant user groups according to EN 301549
- Specific criteria for accessibility testing and UI/UX design
Prerequisites:
Basic knowledge of application development and software quality assurance recommended
